Protocol refers to the way a worklist is run during a net. Itβs generally accepted and fair practice to choose a protocol at the beginning of a net and stick to it throughout the entire net. However, that is not a hard and fast rule. Sometimes conditions or QRM can dictate changes during net operation. Changes to protocol during the net should be done cautiously and infrequently.
The net protocol should be announced on the air, and posted on AIM, prior to the start of the worklist, with reminders during the net as appropriate.
While the Protocol selected is up to the discretion of the NCS, there are a few recognized and common ones used. This list by no means is meant to limit the protocols available for NCS to use on their net. It is provided as a reference only.
