Frequency Selection (Rule)

Please arrive to your schedule net at least 30 minutes prior to the posted start time.

Note: Certain nets / times have agreements in place with other active nets that might prevent the start of 30 minutes prior. Please speak with your Band Coordinator for this information. For example, NATA net runs up against the 40m net, and we have an agreement in place to coordinate this.

All OMISS nets should be held on the posted net frequencies, as indicated on the OMISS website front page. If there is activity on the posted frequency, then a net may be moved plus or minus (+/-) 7kHz from the center frequency for that band.

Some bands, depending upon day of the week and time of the year, may have a smaller frequency span available. Please ask the Band Coordinator for the band you are operating on for information. However, no frequency span is ever wider than +/- 7kHz.

If a frequency cannot be secured, the NCS will standby until the frequency is clear or the NCS can choose to cancel the net after the posted start time. This decision, after the posted time to reach, is at the sole discretion of the NCS scheduled for that net.

Please ensure you have at least 3kHz spacing between the frequency chosen and any adjacent traffic. OMISS nets should not purposefully cause QRM to adjacent stations and make every attempt to be good stewards of the band and promote good will.
