Maintaining NCS Status (Rule)

After completing NCS training you are expected to conduct a net at least once in one hundred and eighty (180) days. If you do not run at least one (1) net within the one hundred and eighty days (180) window you will be moved to the inactive NCS roster. Expiration of your active status will be sent to Band Coordinators and efforts will be made to provide you a net to remain current. However, situations may occur where this notice cannot or does not occur. It is up to the NCS themselves to ensure they meet the one hundred eighty day (180) activity rule.

If a Net Controller has been placed on the inactive roster, a simple email to the Band Coordinator of the band they are interested in to be considered for reactivation is all that is necessary. restoration. It is the sole discretion of the Band Coordinators and Directors whether an inactive NCS requires another “check-out or training net” prior to reactivation. It is not guaranteed or automatic and each is subject to individual review. Any inactive NCS station may volunteer to pick up a vacant net or take over a net for an NCS if asked due to unforeseen circumstances. They must save the check in list and email it to [email protected] for proper documentation of the net or have an active NCS submit it to the reflector on their behalf. If the inactive NCS would like to return to active status after picking up a net, they must email the band coordinators and/or the Directors with a formal request.

A NCS station being placed on the inactive roster does not remove their N designation. It simply removes them from the NCS email list, and removes their reflector login on the website.
